Hey, I’m Joyce—though if you’re one of my friends, you probably know me as the storyteller ✨
As a UI/UX Designer based in Northern Virginia, I thrive at the intersection of design, technology, and user experience. Currently, I’m working with a purpose-driven software company dedicated to empowering communities through technology, where I apply my skills to craft seamless, intuitive digital experiences that make a meaningful impact. However, my journey into design wasn’t always a straight path—it’s a blend of curiosity, problem-solving, and a deep desire to continuously learn and improve.
I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with dual degrees in Information Science and Economics—two fields that sparked my interest in how data, behavior, and technology intersect. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for my future in design, but it wasn’t until after graduation that I decided to take a deeper dive into the world of UX.
To further my expertise, I completed an intensive, 9-month UI/UX Design bootcamp, where I gained hands-on experience and developed my own case studies. This immersive experience allowed me to work alongside a diverse group of designers, collaborate on real-world projects, and craft user-centered solutions that aligned with clients' business goals.
Since then, I’ve continued to grow as a designer—always refining my process, experimenting with new tools, and staying up-to-date with industry trends. Every project I take on is an opportunity to enhance not just my skill set, but my understanding of how great design can change the way people interact with technology. At the heart of it all, I believe that every design has a story to tell—and it’s my job to make sure it’s one worth telling.
